Hi, I’m Dennis. I am a multimedia artist and educator.
I make experiential works that engage, enlighten and educate.
My work explores themes of identity, culture and community and reflects my Indigenous and African American heritage.
My aesthetic is inspired by my Indigenous Yamassee Yat’siminoli and African-American cultural heritage and I incorporate traditional craft customs, storytelling, history, and ancient connections to earth and water into my work.
As a sought-after educator, I conduct workshops and present lectures customized to each audience’s unique interests and needs.
Previously, I’ve spoken about historical connection, workplace diversity, land acknowledgment and more.
I strive to build community and create transformative spaces where diverse groups of people can become engaged and inspired through art and conversation. My welcoming and collaborative style creates a productive space for exploration and connection.

Commissioned as part of Art at Amtrak’s year-round public art initiative at New York Penn Station (NYP), this site-specific installation draws colors, patterns, and icons such as totems, earth mounds, and the medicine wheel from my dual heritage as an Indigenous and African American. Creating this expansive work for Penn Station—a place that connects people and places—allowed me to honor and share my indigenous traditions with a large and diverse public audience.
